Living by our Principles

The objective of our company is to provide Design, Quantity Surveying and Project Management services to the construction industry and other selected businesses. These services should be offered as responsibly, safely and efficiently as possible. Our core values of honesty, integrity and respect for people underpin all the work we do and are the foundation of our Business Principles. The Business Principles apply to all transactions and drive the behaviour expected of every IPM employee engaged in the conduct of our business at all times.

We are judged by how we act. Our reputation will be upheld if we act in accordance with the law and our Business Principles. We encourage our business partners to live by them or by equivalent principles. It is the responsibility of management to lead by example, to ensure that all employees are aware of these principles and behave in accordance with the spirit as well as with the letter of this statement.

The application of these principles is underpinned by a comprehensive set of assurance procedures, which are designed to make sure that our employees understand the principles and confirm that they act in accordance with them. In turn, it is the responsibility of IPM employees to report suspected breaches of the Business Principles.

Responsibility

IPM recognizes four areas of responsibility. It is the duty of management to continuously to assess the priorities and discharge these inseparable responsibilities on the basis of that assessment.

Our clients interests always come first. Our experience shows that if we serve our clients well, our own success will follow.

We constantly strive to anticipate the rapidly changing needs of our clients and to develop new services and innovative techniques to meet these needs. These should ideally offer value in terms of price, quality, safety and environmental impact

To provide the requisite technological, environmental and commercial expertise to achieve these objectives for our clients. In a service business, we know that without the best people, we cannot be the best firm.

Health, Safety, Security and the Environment

IPM has a systematic approach to health, safety, security and environmental management in order to achieve continuous performance improvement. To this end, IPM manages these matters as critical business activities, set standards and targets for improvement, and measure, appraise and report performance.

We continually look for ways to reduce the environmental impact of our operations and services.

Business Integrity

IPM insists on honesty, integrity and fairness in all aspects of our business and expect the same in our relationships with all those with whom we do business. The direct or indirect offer, payment, soliciting or acceptance of bribes in any form is unacceptable. Employees must avoid conflicts of interest between their private activities and their part in the conduct of company business.

Compliance

We are dedicated to complying fully with the letter and spirit of the laws, regulations and ethical principles that govern us in the countries in which we operate. Our continued success depends upon unswerving adherence to this standard.

Our assets are our people, capital and reputation If any of these is ever diminished, the last is the most difficult to restore.

Confidentiality

We regularly receive confidential information as part of our normal client relationships to breach a confidence or to use confidential information improperly or carelessly would be unacceptable.

Quality of Service

We take great pride in the professional quality of our work. We have an uncompromising determination to achieve excellence in everything we undertake. Though we may be involved in a wide variety and heavy volume of activity, we would, if it came to a choice, rather be the best than the biggest. We stress creativity and imagination in everything we do. While recognizing that the old way may still be the best way, we constantly strive to find a better solution to a client’s problems. We stress teamwork in everything we do. While individual creativity is always encouraged, we have found that team effort often produces the best results. We have no room for those who put their personal interests ahead of the interests of the firm and its clients.We consider our size an asset that we try hard to preserve. We want to be big enough to undertake the largest project that any of our clients could contemplate, yet small enough to maintain the loyalty, the intimacy and the esprit de corps that we all treasure and that contributes greatly to our success.
